The Birmingham City University (BCU) was established in 1843 and was initially known as the Birmingham College of Art. It gained the status of polytechnic when the 5 colleges merged together (institution in the city) during the year 1971 and got the status of university in 1992.

On-campus facilities: The university provides the facility of residence for the students. The institution has 7 residence halls for accommodation. One can also find this city by the name of “First manufacturing town in the world.” Apart from all this, Birmingham is culturally also very much mesmerizing. Jazz has been very much hit in the city since the 1920s, also theatre and performing arts, music and sports have been very much enthusiastic activities among its people.
