California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB or Cal State Monterey Bay) is a public university in Monterey County, California. Its main campus is located on the site of the former military base Fort Ord, straddling the cities of Seaside and Marina, about one mile inland from Monterey Bay along the Central Coast of California. CSUMB also has locations in the cities of Monterey and Salinas. Founded in 1994, CSUMB is part of the California State University system and is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.
CSUMB was founded in 1994 with a student enrollment of 654 students. Classes began August 28, 1995. The founding president was Peter Plympton Smith. It was the 22nd campus in the California State University system. The university offers 23 bachelor's degrees, 7 master's degrees, and teaching credentials.
As of the fall of 2016, the university has 6,883 undergraduate students, 544 graduate students and 163 full-time faculty members. The university operates on the semester system. The president is Eduardo M. Ochoa, who was appointed in May 2012.

Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.

Complete the CSU application for Cal State Monterey Bay. Go to calstate.edu/apply to apply online. Check &quot;Yes&quot; in the EOP section asking if you wish to apply for EOP. Complete all the necessary supplemental information.

After submitting the CSUMB Admission application, you will be directed to a link to complete the EOP application online.

You will be asked to provide the names and e-mail addresses of two teachers or counselors who can recommend you for EOP. They will be sent the recommendation questions by e-mail and can submit their answers online.

Financial Aid

As with any base, existing development was spread out and lacked the sense of place and connection a campus needs. The plan determined the physical form and character of the campus, concentrating new development (library, student union, the Panetta Center for Policy, classroom buildings) within a campus core&mdash;creating a Campus Heart. New North Quad housing and a Visitors Center were quickly developed, as a direct result of the Plan. It established guidelines and recommendations for building and integrated CSUMB&rsquo;s plans with neighboring communities&rsquo; plans and projects.
