Overview
City was earlier called Northampton Institute and later it got the University recognition in 1966 when the royal charter created it. It was originally founded in 1894 and became part of the federal University of London on 1 September 2016.
In April 2001 a strategic alliance was formed between City University and Queen Mary, University of London. Since then it has opened many new departments and progressed to become better.
