Coast Mountain College was established at terrace, British Columbia in 1975 and was previously known as Northwest Community College. The known name came into effect recently in June 18, 2018.

On-campus facilities: The on-campus accommodation facilities are available only at terrace and smithers campus as of now. You'd expect facilities like:
1. Free Wifi across accommodation
2. Laundry and food services
3. Single/ twin beds with wardrobe, and study table.
 Off-campus facilities: You can find many off-campus accommodations around the campus by various online sites like kijiji, Terrace area real estate and rentals, Smithers Accommodations, etc. The facilities will vary depending on the rent agreement and terms and conditions. 
 Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): To get vegan food you can visit the nearby grocery store and cook a nice meal for yourselves. Also there are many vegan restaurants available in terrace like:

2. Hot House
3. Chef Abhi's

Coast Mountain College has many facilities that you'd enjoy during your course duration. Apart from facilities it also has small class sizes, trades foundation, online courses, and apprenticeship programs. The college also helps about 34 communities with its innovative mobile classroom systems. All in all it is a good option to consider.

Size of campus : 30 No. of campuses: 1 Facilities: 1. Innovation lab library which has AR and VR facilities, as well as 3D printers.
2. Portable high tech classroom and mobile shops for on the go outdoor teaching of students.
 Campus safety: You'll find CMTN security at the terrace campus in the residence office as well as around the residence complex for children security.
They also have other security measures like:
1. ID cards which are used to access the college campus, compulsory for students as well as staff.
2. The IT department and student services team of the college will help you in case of any cybercrime like hacking, cyberbullying, etc.

Place description: You can find many scenic locations around the campus especially in the Terrace campus. The Terrace campus is surrounded by market ranges, at the same time it has great connectivity with downtown due to public transit and bike trails.
 Weather: The weather would vary across different campuses but all in all the weather in Canada is on the colder side with summers being short and cozy. So If you're someone who likes cold weather then this place is for you. In Terrace, the winters are cold and wet while the summers are cloudy and comfortable.  Important landmarks/places nearby: There are many tourist attractions and beautiful places which you can visit at Terrace. Some of which are:
1. Lakelse Lake Provincial Park
2. Kleanza Creek Provincial Park
3. Kalum River
4. Heritage Park Museum
These are just some of the places, and many more are there for you to explore.
 Crime rate: The crime rate at Terrace is slightly more than the moderate number. But police and other security authorities are very much aware. They take quick action to help you in any emergency situation.
 Nearby Airports: For international travel, following nearby airports would be used by you:
1. Northwest Regional Airport (12 km)
2. Terrace NDB XT 332 (25 km)
3. Air Canada (12 km)
 Nearby Subways and train stations: For short distance travel or intercity travel, you can use the bus services and trains services that are available between Prince Rupert and Prince George.

Two scholarships of $4,000 each are available to International students: one to a student enrolled in an undergraduate program, and one enrolled in a graduate/post-graduate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution. $2,000 in runner up prizes.

CAEL Scholarships

Patti Barnes was a community activist who dedicated 28 years to the College, Library, students, and the Academic Worker's Union (AWU). Over the years, Patti was always known for her help to others. She was kind-hearted and positively influenced and changed the lives of many people. Patti was a friend to many and dedicated herself to community organizations and to improving the world. Patti's spirit of helping people will carry on with this award. 
The award is provided by the Academic Worker's Union and will go to a student nominated by a union member; no application is required. The award consists of two parts: a $1,000 cheque from the AWU, and a $1,000 tuition credit to be used at Coast Mountain College (CMTN) for a student intending to enrol in their second year of studies in an CMTN academic program. 
This award is intended to apply to a student engaged in, and committed to, community and/or international work empowering under-represented groups. For example, but not limited to: working in literacy, women's issues, human rights, student advocacy, labour, First Nations, poverty, and multiculturalism.
3 x $2,000 awards are available in May 2024.

To be eligible, a student must:

Be enrolled in a University Credit Associate Degree program including but not limited to: Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate of Science - Registered Nurse, Applied Coastal Ecology, Social Service Worker, Early Childhood Care and Education;
Be engaged in and committed to community and/or international work empowering under-represented groups;
Receive nomination from an Academic Worker's Union member.

AWU Patti Barnes Award

The New Car Dealers Foundation of BC is committed to driving education and community involvement, and exists to provide CarCareerBC awards to young people for programs that lead to work at new car dealerships. Additionally, the Foundation supports charities throughout BC where local dealers are involved.

The Terrace Auto Dealers Association & New Car Dealers Foundation of BC are proud to offer three award categories to students of Coast Mountain College:

Automotive Foundation Awards (2 x $1,500)
Automotive Apprentice Award (1 x $1,000)

Criteria:

To be eligible a student must:
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and resident of BC (preferred). International students will be considered;
Be enrolled full-time in the Automotive Apprentice program levels 2, 3, or 4; the Automotive Foundation program; or in the 1st Yr Business Administration Certificate or 2nd Yr Diploma program;
Have a 3.0 GPA or 75%. 1 semester must be completed prior to award, except for trades;
Receive recommendation from an instructor;
Submit a letter about how the award will help your education;
Show financial need.

The Uppal Appliances Ltd. Award has been established by donations from former Coast Mountain College (CMTN) Business Administration program graduate and International student, Kapil Verma, to assist future International Business Administration program students succeed.

This award is open to any International student enrolled in a CMTN Business Administration program at the Terrace campus. In the event of multiple applications of equal caliber, the award could be divided into two $500 awards per semester at the discretion of the CMTN Awards Committee.

Criteria:

To be eligible a student must:
- Be an International student enrolled in a Business Administration program at the CMTN Terrace campus;
- Have a min GPA of 3.0 (first semester must be completed prior to award);
- Submit a 1-page letter outlining your career goals and how this award will assist you in achieving your goal;
- Preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need.

Uppal Appliances Ltd. Award

The BC Council for International Education is pleased to announce the launch of the Study in BC Writers' Award.
International post-secondary students who are budding writers are encouraged to apply for the $1,000 Award in exchange for writing blog content for Study in BC's website. This is a great opportunity for students to gain professional work experience. The application deadline is Nov 1, 2020.
Applicants must be full or part-time international students currently enrolled at a BC post-secondary institution. (Students who are currently living in their home country due to COVID-19 but are attending classes virtually at a BC institution are eligible to apply.)

Study in Bc Writer's Award For International Students

International Alumni of Impact Scholarships celebrate former international students who have graduated from a Canadian higher education institution, and who have gone on to make a positive impact within their community, workplace, or internationally. Once International Alumni of Impact winners are officially selected, one-time scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be created in each of their names and given to deserving incoming international students to help support the next generation of international leaders.

This $500 award is provided by the Academic Worker's Union. The award recipient will be an International student nominated by a union member; no application is required.

To be eligible a student must:

AWU International Student Award

The Dave O'Leary Memorial Bursary has been established in memory of Coast Mountain College employee, Dave O'Leary. During his time with the College, Dave held the position of Dean of Instruction in Trades, Chief Information Officer and lastly, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. He worked passionately to improve access to education for all. He touched many lives in his too short but impactful career. He would be ecstatic to know that his mission to provide equality in educational access, regardless of personal or economic circumstance, will continue to be supported through this bursary.
Outside of work Dave was an avid fisherman and lifelong learner. Following his Career at Coast Mountain College, Dave went on to consult for several venture capital groups in Silicon Valley and was involved in the success of several notable start up companies.
The incredible selflessness, passion and dedication Dave brought to his work, was second only to his devotion to his family. Dave's message to his children was always - "Don't be afraid, just go have fun with it." We, his family, would like to send this message forward along with our sincere congratulations, to the deserving recipients of this bursary.

- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee and BC resident, or International student;
- Be enrolled in any program at CMTN;
- Be a mature student (19 yrs of age or older);
- Be a single parent;
