Overview
The College of San Mateo, also known as CSM is located in the Californian city of San Mateo. It is a Public Community College that was established in the year 1922.
In the early 1920s, the principal of San Mateo High School, William L. Glascock first gave the idea to build a junior college which was meant to be an alternative to the 4-year college. In 1922, it was founded as the San Mateo Junior College (SMJC) and finally in 1954; the name was changed to College of San Mateo (CSM).

General Information
Institutional scholarships are given to new, continuing, and transfer students each year by the three institutions that make up the San Mateo County Community College District (Canada College, San Mateo College, and Skyline College).
- Awards are based on academic excellence, financial necessity, or specialised hobbies, including clubs, sports teams, and volunteer work.
- Numerous CSM players have progressed to professional careers.
- Many student-athletes receive scholarships and continue their careers at four-year universities.
- To enhance student success, CSM offers a wide range of academic support programmes.
- Financial assistance and grants, counselling, transitional programmes, tutoring, job assistance, paediatric services, and child care are just a few resources available.
