History
Drew University’s history begins with financer Daniel Drew who purchased land in Madison, New Jersey in 1867. His aim was to establish a theological seminary to train future ministers for the Methodist ministry. Drew Theological Seminary thus remained until it was expanded to a liberal arts college in the 20th century.

General Information
Drew offers a wide range of scholarships to all of their students. International Students are automatically considered for scholarships at Drew so no separate application is to be submitted
Some of the offered scholarships are: -
- Merit based -
First year students can be considered for one of the three major scholarships that are The Francis Asbury Scholarship, The Presidential Scholarship and The Dean’s Scholarship.
- Need based grants -
Local students will need to fill out FAFSA while international students are required to fill and submit the International Student Financial Aid Application before deadline.
- Outside help -
External scholarships can be applied to if Drew’s grants or scholarships are not sufficient. If the university thinks the total aid is exceeding the need of the student, deductions may be made.
