Overview
History
The Connecticut General Assembly started a school in 1889 for training school teachers. The name of the school was Willimantic State Normal School. The first male student entered the school in 1893. In 1895, the larger campus was built and the first dormitory was built in 1921 and it was renamed Willimantic State Teachers College in 1937. General Information
Eastern Connecticut State University provides scholarships for international students. They are eligible for applying for merit scholarships and Honors Program Scholarships based on the strength of their admission credentials. If students meet the criteria for Honors program, they are automatically considered and awarded for merit scholarships.
