The MCM Drama Award can be granted to a boy applying for an Orwell Award who is passionate about the theatre arts, with the personality to adapt successfully to the life of a boarding community.

The award is not only open to actors and aspiring directors, but for any boy who feels drawn to work in any aspect of the theatre and gain more experience. There has been a steady stream of actors, playwrights, directors and technicians from the school who have gone on to make significant contributions to the artistic life of the country, from Oscar winners to top stage designers and comedians.

The Music Department at Eton College is the largest department in the school with a team of six full time music masters under the direction of the Precentor and Director of Music.  75 visiting teachers, all of whom balance teaching with successful performing careers in the music industry, teach over 1300 individual instrument lessons a week within the department.  Boys achieve outstanding results in their academic music studies, and have a plethora of options for music-making outside the classroom.

Orwell Award

Boys who are outstanding academically, who have been educated in the UK state system at primary level and who need financial assistance to attend Eton can be considered for the Rokos Scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of a donor, this award provides means-tested financial support for up to four boys per year to attend Eton. These boys are identified by the school during the Admissions process. Where necessary, the scholarship will cover 100% fees and extras. We will help families identify the most appropriate pathway for their sons in Years 7 and 8. Boys should be registered in the normal way for 13+ entry by 30 June in UK school Year 5. 

Rokos Scholarship

The Sixth Form Music Award, which is part of the Orwell Award, is available to a boy who shows great musical potential, with the personality to adapt successfully to the life of a boarding community. We welcome applications from boys with a strong commitment to their music making, who would make the most from the extraordinary musical opportunities on offer at Eton and contribute to ensembles or choirs. As a rough guide, past award holders have been of roughly Grade 7 and above.

Sixth Form Music Award

Eton College has 70 King's Scholars who board in College House under the care of the Master-in-College (the House Master), the Matron-in-College (the Dame) and pastoral team. Every boy has his own study-bedroom and, apart from a few minor differences, his life at Eton is very similar to that of boys in other Houses.
