India Diwali Scholarship Award

The up to GBP6,000 award will be spread evenly over your first-year tuition payments, making it easier to focus on your studies and worry less about your finances. The award will be applied as follows based on your course fee:

A GBP2000 award where programme fees are up to GBP23,000 

A GBP4000 award where programme fees are between GBP23,000 and GBP26,000

Any student who has passed their 12th in 2019 and have more than 75% and above we can accept their 12th score as an English proof.
Heriot Watt Edinburgh has announced that the IELTS/English condition is now waived for applicants who have completed their 12th grade with a minimum of 70 percent in English within the last 5 years.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is committed to supporting the educational and development needs of students and graduates with scholarships and awards totalling some GBP800,000.

IMechE has awards for students about to study undergraduate and postgraduate IMechE accredited degrees. It also provides limited support for degrees of all engineering disciplines, with awards up to the value of GBP21,800.

Postgrad Solutions have  launched 5 Postgrad Solutions Study Bursaries for 2024 worth GBP2,000 each towards postgraduate studies for the upcoming academic year - and every postgraduate student is eligible to apply whatever their subject choice and whether they are studying full time, part time, online or via blended learning. And, even if a student has secured other funding for their PG program we are happy to top this up with one of our GBP2,000 bursaries!

In the majority of cases payment of the award will be made direct to your institution and will be discounted from your fees as appropriate. In some circumstances payment can be put towards student living costs and accommodation upon receipt of necessary documentation. You may only apply for a bursary after you have accepted an offer of a place at your chosen institution.

Staff Scholarships

Heriot-Watt staff can avail of fee reduction if they choose to study a Heriot-Watt degree.

This is an exciting role for a student coach and specific responsibilities of the coaching scholarship recipient will vary depending on the requirements of the Sports Union club. The recipient will undergo a full induction within both the Sports Union and Oriam. The recipient will be expected to start their coaching scholarship in August 2023 to allow for a full induction, training and planning for the academic year, starting in September. The recipient will work primarily within the Oriam Performance Department and work closely with the Sports Union to deliver on coaching and recruitment for one of the Sports Clubs.

The scholarship will last for the duration of their studies - one year for full time study, two years for part time study. The recipient will be expected to complete a handover process at the end of the scholarship in the August of their final year e.g. August 2024 for a full time student or August 2025 for a part time student.  

For academic courses starting in January 2024, a January start for a coaching scholarship may also be possible depending on sport - please use the enquiry form at the top of this page to get in touch.

This role is also available as a player-coach position for anyone wishing to compete for Heriot-Watt University in their sport.

If English is not your first language a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required with all elements passed at 6.0 or above.

Coaching Scholarships Programme

Varies - up to a 100% Tuition fee Reduction (dependent on experience and number of coaching hours across the year).

The percentage of fee reduction offered to the recipient will depend on:

Coaching qualification

Previous coaching experience (or significant playing experience)

Commitment and quantity of coaching hours across the duration of the scholarship

Percentage fee reduction will be agreed before the scholarship is approved and will be based on the commitment of the recipient to meet the coaching requirements 
throughout the year. The recipient will be removed from the scholarship and required to pay any outstanding fee's to complete their studies should they fail to meet the
