<p>High Point University was formed from the efforts of a church that became active in educational pursuits in 1921. The church was the Methodist Protestant Church and the members voted to open a college to provide education to the citizens. After some time the committee asked for a huge land of 60 acres from a High Point citizen. It was to be known as High Point College after that.</p>

<p>In the year 1991, the board of trustees changed the name of the college to &ldquo;High Point University&rdquo;. The university expanded to over 92 acres till the year 2005 and had become a point of quality education. The university now offers more than 61 UG and 14 graduate degrees across various streams. In the year 2019, the college president announced the investment of 1 billion dollars for the expansion of the university. <strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>
