Kansas State University was established in 1863 as the Kansas State Agricultural College. The university is publicly funded and has an enrollment rate of more than 16000 students. The university underwent a number of changes in the name like Kansas State College of agriculture and applied science until it was renamed to Kansas State University of Agriculture and Applied Science in 1959.
