The university was established on 23rd February 18666 and their classes begin on May 7 and graduated the first class in 1870. The college was earlier affiliated with the United Methodist Church that happened through several church mergers. It started as a single building and in its first 35 years, the college enjoyed growth. By 1904, it had Engle Hall, room for the music department, and a partially completed library. The college faced downfalls during World War but recovered. Now the college has 40 buildings and provides all kinds of facilities for students.&nbsp;
