LIM College is a private college in Midtown Manhattan focused on the business of fashion. LIM College offers master's, bachelor's and associate degree programs in a variety of fashion-focused majors, with an emphasis on the connection between real-world experience and academic study.
LIM College was founded in 1939 by retail and education expert Maxwell F. Marcuse as the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, at the request of retailers who wanted a school that would teach women about the fashion business and merchandising. LIM became co-ed in 1971 and Maxwell's son, Adrian G. Marcuse, became president in 1972. During his tenure, LIM College became accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and earned authority from New York State to grant bachelor's degrees. Former fashion executive Elizabeth S. Marcuse assumed the presidency in 2002. In 2009, the school changed its name to LIM College.
LIM College offers undergraduate majors leading to a bachelor's degree in International Business, Fashion Media, Fashion Merchandising, Visual Studies, Marketing and Management. Minors are available in several fields, including, but not limited to, Sustainability, Art History, Global Studies, Digital Design and Photography, and Interior and Residential Concepts. Associate degree programs are also offered.

 <h3>Off-Campus Accommodations</h3>
 The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.
 <h3>Homestay</h3>
 There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.

Accommodation

The College invests $6 million in scholarships and grants to help students afford their studies in the USA. Some of the scholarships, grants and loans offered by the institute are as follows: Freshmen academic achievement awards: This is for undergraduate students and is given on the basis of merit scores of High School. The award amounts to $ 1,500-$10,000. It is a renewable award. LIM/college community scholarship: This is a need-based award and amounts up to half the tuition fees. It is given to incoming community college graduates with decent scores. LIM graduate excellence award: Offered on merit base, it amounts up to $1,500-4,500. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 to continue getting benefits.

Financial Aid

On average, 94% of students get a job after completion of a postgraduate course from the college. However, according to research by Georgetown University of 4,500 institutes, LIM was amongst the top 25% for long term return on investment. According to Niche 2020 data, the average earning of a LIM student after six years of graduation is $48,900 per year.

College and university instructors who currently teach fashion-related courses and have professional experience in the fashion industry yet do not currently hold a graduate degree are invited to apply for an LIM College Fashion Educators Grant. LIM College Sibling Tuition Award

Awards of $1,500-$4,500 per year are conferred and students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A student must enroll in a minimum of six credits for up to three semesters. Based on availability. Incoming graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 will be evaluated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that additional application materials will be considered prior to awarding the scholarship. Academic criteria are evaluated during the admissions application review process.
