The university dates back to 1909 when &nbsp;a Technical Institute was founded in the town centre. Then followed a period od rapid expansion during which the institute was enamed as Loughborough College. After the world war 1 the institute fragmented into four seperate colleges which were Loughnorough Training College, Loughborough College of Art, Loughborough College of Further Education, Loughborough College of Technology. An experienced educationist, Herbert Haslegrave took over as college principal in 1953, and by both increasing the breadths and raising standards, gained it the status of Colleges of Advanced Technology in 1958. 
In 1977, Loughborough Training College (now renamed Loughborough College of Education) was absorbed into the university. The Arts College was also amalgamated with the university in 1998. These additions have diluted the technological flavour of the institution, causing it to resemble more a traditional university with its mix of humanities, arts and sciences. Consequently, in 1996, the university dropped the &#39;of Technology&#39; from its title, becoming &#39;Loughborough University&#39;.

The security department operates 24/7, with security staff regularly patrolling the campus and surrounding halls. They respond and deal with all emergencies on the campus and can also assist you in relation to crime and traffic issues as well as other matters whenever other services are not available.

The place is a town in the Charnwood borough of Leicestershire, England, seat of Charnwood Borough Council, and home to Loughborough University. The town had a population of 59,933 in 2011 census, and an estimate of 67,956 in 2019. It has great landmarks around all over the place and has a lot of travelling vehicular mechanisms for easy travel and the economy is good too the market being its centre.
