The Management Development Institute of Singapore, also known as MDIS was founded in 1956. It is known to be one of the oldest non-profit vocational universities in Singapore for lifelong learning that offers a variety of degree programs 
In the year 1955, the formation of the Supervisory and Management Training Association of Singapore (SAMTAS) was initiated. By the year 1982, SAMTAS was upgraded to a professional institute and by 1984, the name of SAMTAS, was officially changed to the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).
MDIS is therefore regarded as the oldest professional institute in Singapore till date. Facts: 1. The Management Development Institute of Singapore was first awarded with the EduTrust certification in 2010 due to its excellence in Business standards and education. 2. MDIS is known to be one of the first Private Education Institutions (PEIs) that have been registered under the Enhanced Registration Framework. 3. At the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA), MDIS had achieved a double win and was one of the four winners and also the overall winner of the SPBA - Heritage Brands in the year 2018. 4. MDIS was ranked at the 4th position in the Enterprise 50 Award for its exemplary contributions in accelerating the economy of Singapore as of 2017. 5. MDIS also provides preparatory courses for 'A' level and GCE 'O' level examinations through its subsidiary MDIS College that has been registered under the CPE (Committee for Private Education Singapore).

About

On-campus facilities: All the students need to prepare their accommodations before the classes start and therefore, it is necessary to find the place beforehand so that you can rest assured. Also, it is necessary to apply and book the accommodation place quickly as the accommodation options fill up quickly. Hence, the university provides On-Campus Accommodations so that the students can comfortably stay in a secured place within the campus. The MDIS Residences at Sterling has a hostel that consists of 14 suites, 782 air-conditioned rooms, a 500-seater auditorium and a cafeteria and can accommodate around 1700 students. Off-campus facilities: If you are a person who prefers to stay independently and with all the freedom, then the various off-campus facilities might be useful to you. Off-campus facilities are best for students in their senior years when they have adjusted to the new cities' lifestyle. Singapore offers a huge range of accommodation facilities for the students like homestays, purpose built student accommodation, student houses, flats, studio rooms, etc. You can opt for any of these facilities according to your budget and needs. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): Food has always been a major issue for all International students, especially for the Indian students; therefore, it would be nice to know that Singapore has a variety of dishes from diverse cultures including various Indian dishes. It also has various restaurants nearby the University that provides Indian food like Curry Magic, Jaggi’s Northern Indian Cuisine, Khansama Tandoori Restaurant, We Desi- Indian Bistro, etc.
