The University of Manchester, commonly known as Manchester University, is a public-funded, research oriented university situated in Manchester, England. The university was formed in 2004, by the merging of many prominent predecessor universities, like University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and the Victoria University of Manchester. 
With more than 40,000 students enrolled, the university became the second largest university in the UK in terms of number of students. Also, the university has the fifth largest endowment of any university in the UK. Manchester University is also a member of the Russell Group of the British research universities. Facts: 1. QS World University Rankings 2021 ranked the university #27 worldwide. 2. Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021 gave the ranking of #51 to Manchester University worldwide. 3. On-campus facilities: The university offers guaranteed on-campus accommodation facility to their international students in their 19 residential halls, which comprises more than 8,000 rooms. Fallowfield campus is the main residential area where the university provides accommodation. All the residential halls and rooms of the university are very well-facilitated and maintained. Essential facilities like desk & chair, wardrobe, laundry, security surveillance & support, etc. are provided at the residential halls. Off-campus facilities: Students can also opt for the off-campus accommodation facility which the university allows. They can rent any flat or apartment like private or shared apartment, studio apartment, etc. depending on their budget and interest. The average cost of an apartment ranges between £600-800 per month. Students can save money on their monthly budget by looking up for sharing the apartment with any of the fellow students. The residence places in the city are all safe and at a convenient distance from the university. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): With more than 30 cafes and restaurants run by the university, the students at University of Manchester get lots of options and quality of a food service over the campus.
