Michigan State University (MSU) is a public land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan. MSU was founded in 1855 and served as a model for land-grant colleges and universities later created under the Morrill Act of 1862. The university was founded as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan, one of the country&#39;s first higher education institutions to teach scientific agriculture. After the introduction of the Morrill Act, the college became coeducational and expanded its curriculum beyond agriculture. MSU is one of the largest universities in the United States (in terms of enrollment) and has approximately 634,300 living alums worldwide.

Sports and Athletics

Spartans are the nickname for MSU&#39;s athletic teams. When you enter the MSU, you have access to four indoor facilities spread out over campus that include group exercise studios, a turf arena, two cycling studios, racquetball/squash courts, two indoor pools, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a ballroom, and an indoor roller rink.

Music and Entertainment

Every season, more than 150 concerts take place at MSU, featuring acts like Panic! at the Disco in addition to well-known performance series and large ensembles. All students have the chance to take part in a number of student ensembles, regardless of the programme they are enrolled in.

MSU does not offer financial aid to international students. However, international students can avail the benefits of scholarships and grants provided by the university. The southern and central parts of the Lower Peninsula (south of Saginaw Bay and from the Grand Rapids area southward) have a warmer climate with hot summers and cold winters. The northern part of Lower Peninsula and the entire Upper Peninsula has a more severe climate (K&ouml;ppen&nbsp;Dfb), with warm, but shorter summers and longer, cold to very cold winters.</li>
	<li>Some parts of the state average high temperatures below freezing from December through February, and into early March in the far northern parts. During the winter through the middle of February, the state is frequently subjected to heavy&nbsp;lake-effect snow. The state averages from 30 to 40 inches (76 to 102&nbsp;cm) of precipitation annually.</li>
	<li>&nbsp;However, some areas in the northern lower peninsula and the upper peninsula average almost 160 inches (4,100&nbsp;mm) of snowfall per year. Michigan&#39;s highest recorded temperature is 112&nbsp;&deg;F (44&nbsp;&deg;C) at&nbsp;Mio&nbsp;on July 13, 1936, and the coldest recorded temperature is &minus;51&nbsp;&deg;F (&minus;46&nbsp;&deg;C) at&nbsp;Vanderbilt&nbsp;on February 9, 1934.</li>
