<p>Missouri Western&nbsp;State University, shortened as MWSU, is a public-funded university located in the city of Saint Joseph, Missouri, USA. The university was established in the year 1915 as the St. Joseph Junior College. At&nbsp;the time of the establishment, it was a two-year junior college and it used to take classes in the Central High School campus. Because of the initiative of Warren Hearnes, the institution became a four-year institution and became Missouri Western Junior College.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Later in the year 1973, the institution became Missouri Western State College. With the legislation in the year 2005, the institution received its university grant and thus became the Missouri Western State University. And the university started offering graduate degree from 2007.</p>
