<p><b>Monroe College</b> is a private for-profit college and graduate school based in New York City. The college was founded in 1933 and has campuses in the Bronx, New Rochelle, and Saint Lucia with an extension site in Manhattan. The college is named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. Monroe College is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
</p><p>Monroe College was founded in 1933 by Mildred King as the Monroe School of Business, a women's business school, in the West Farms section of the Bronx. The school's classes were held at the site of the former Starlight Ballroom.

        <p>The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.</p>
        <h3>Homestay</h3>
        <p>There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.</p>

Accommodation

<ul><li>The availability of awards is based on the funds and are awarded by the Office of International Admissions.</li><li>Monroe primarily offers two types of scholarships:<ul><li>International Scholarships:<ul><li>It is awarded to undergraduate international F1 matriculated students.</li><li>Students need to have a minimum of 3.0 GPA and complete 12 credits every semester to be eligible for the scholarship.</li></ul></li><li>Graduate International Student Scholarship: <ul><li>It is awarded to the graduate international F1 matriculated students.</li><li>The student is required to have a 3.75 GPA, from their undergrad institution.</li><li>Scholarship ends upon graduation.</li><li>The candidate would be expected to complete 9 credits in their previous semester along with maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.7 and continuous enrolment.</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul>
