Murdoch University is a public-funded university established in the year 1973, and it is located in the city of Perth, Western Australia. The university received its name from Sir Walter Murdoch, the former Chancellor of the University of Western Australia. Murdoch University started its academics in 1975 with the enrollment of 510 students in some undergraduate programs.

Murdoch University is a member of the Verdant Universities of Australia, comprising the universities founded in 1960-80. The university is also a member of the Innovative Research Universities of Australia, a group of seven universities that provide research-based higher education.

On-Campus Accommodation

Murdoch University Village offers on-campus lodging, fully&nbsp;furnished rooms, a swimming pool, table tennis, air hockey, a recreation room with barbecues, a communal kitchen, a movie room with satellite TV, group study rooms, a music room, and three large communal laundries. AUD 176&nbsp;to AUD 409 is the range for the weekly rates in 2022.

Short Term Stay

Short-term lodgings are offered for students who choose to stay at the Village temporarily while exploring long-term housing choices in Australia. Students can reserve a single room in a shared apartment each night for AUD 45.

Off-Campus Accommodation

Students can also opt for the off-campus accommodation facility if the on-campus accommodation isn&rsquo;t provided. The university allows off-campus housing and also helps in getting one. From the flats and apartment options available near the campus, students can choose suitable accommodation places depending on their budget and interest of the student.
