History
Northern College was founded during Ontario’s College system in 1967. It was founded as a part of a provincial initiative to create institutions that provide various diploma and certificate courses. The first campus was Kirkland Campus than the Porcupine campus, then the Haileybury campus, and the Moosonee campus. It is a college of applied arts and technology in Northern Ontario.

The college puts out the scholarship opportunity twice in an academic year, generally in September and January. The most popular scholarship start a college offers for its international students are:
- Term 2 Progress Awards: This scholarship offers 1000 Canadian dollars worth of scholarship opportunities to international students in the field of business fundamentals, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, nursing and health care, and any other technical degree.
- Graduation Awards for Top Performances: This scholarship also offers 1000 Canadian dollars for the students in the field of Business Fundamentals, Civil Engineering, computer engineering, etc.
