Established in 1978, NorthTec is a territory education provider in the western of New Zealand. It was founded as Northland Community College. It offered more than 50 courses by 1981 and started its nurse training in 1983. It became a polytechnic institute in the year of 1988. On April 1, 2020 the NorthTec became a part of New Zealand Institute of Skills & Technology. 15 other institutes are a part of this.
