The University was established in 1977, by the name of "Christian Broadcasting Network University". The University offers various traditional and distance courses. More than 8000 students are enrolled every year in UG and PG courses. 
In the year 1984, Regent received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The University opened a second campus at Alexandria, Virginia in 1995. Only 77 students were first enrolled in the university, which has now become 8000.  Facts: 1. Regent University consists of 8 academic schools which together offers over 70 courses of study. 2. There are around 138 full-time faculty members and 48 part-time members. 3. The University spans over 70 acres of suburban campus and it is located in the coastal area of Virginia. 4. The University has been awarded various recognition in film and education fields. 5. Every year around 1000 students take admission in non-degree courses that are professional courses.

On-campus facilities: Regent University provides various on campus facilities such as housing, maintaining, etc. The housing facility consists of well trained personnel that have full knowledge of their work. The students can easily complain about any grievances in the campus administration. Off-campus facilities: Various student organizations work off campus and provide facilities to the students. The students living outside the campus can interact with the clubs and gain the many facilities. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): Good and clean food is provided to the students at the student centre. The dining here is very good and the students can enjoy delicious food at great prices. The student centre is closed on weekends and runs from Monday to Friday.

Place description: The beautiful 70 acres campus is situated at Virginia beach, Virginia, US. The coastal area provides a beautiful view to the students. The place is clean and comfortable for the students which is achieved by the help of trained maintenance staff. Important landmarks/places nearby: You can visit the following places: 1. Students can relax at spas like the Flowering almond spa. 2. Museums and art galleries are very interesting and a lot of people go there every day. 3. Mount Trashmore Park, Oak grove Lake Park, etc. are various parks where students can relax and have fun. 4. Hamptons Roads Naval museum is one of the best museums in the region. Crime rate: In the year 2019, a total of 26 crime incidents were reported. A rate of 2.6 on a thousand students reported for any crime at the campus. The rate is quite low which makes it very safe for the international students. The University has its own police department which makes the campus safe and sound. Nearby Airports: The nearest airport is the Norfolk international airport which is just 9 miles from the University. Newport news international airport is situated 28 miles from the University. These are nearest to the campus. Nearby Subways and train stations: There are many train stations near to the university. Some of them are military station, Newtown road station, Ingleside road station, etc. There are also various subways which makes the transportation to university easier for the students.

Internships: Internships provide students with practical knowledge and experience at the University. Regent gives a huge platform to the students to attain internships. As the University is located at a beach, it experiences good weather in summers but in winter there is snow and rain. The students are advised to take care of themselves in summer but it is a beautiful view in all the snow at the campus.
