Rider University is a private-funded university located in the region of Lawrence Township, New Jersey, USA. It was established in the year 1865 as the Trenton Business College by Henry Beadman Bryant and Henry D. Stratton, and Andrew J. Rider was appointed as its first president. The institution grew in the later&nbsp;years and also started intaking women. With the increase in students enrollments, the institution needed a bigger infrastructure and thus moved to East State Street in Trenton in 1959, and changed its name to Rider College.&nbsp;

In the year 1991, the college merged with Westminster Choir College, making that campus into the Princeton Campus of Rider College. After three years, the college received its university charter and became Rider University.&nbsp;
