<p><b>Seattle Pacific University</b> (<b>SPU</b>) is a private Christian university in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was founded in 1891 in conjunction with the Oregon and Washington Conference of the Free Methodist Church as the Seattle Seminary. It became the Seattle Seminary and College in 1913, adopting the name Seattle Pacific College two years later; it received its present name in 1977. Seattle Pacific University is a member of the Christian College Consortium.

<ul><li>There are 5 residence halls namely; Arnett Hall, Ashton Hall (the largest residence hall), Emerson Hall, Hill Hall, and Moyer Hall (in the centre of the campus)</li><li>The residence halls have elevators, fitness centres, vending machines, cable TVs and laundry services.</li><li>Small refrigerators are permitted in the rooms, heating equipment and cooking appliances are prohibited in rooms but are available in the lounge and kitchens.</li><li>Students are requested to bring their own laptops, a strong network is available on campus.</li><li>Students living in the residence halls must choose a Weekly Block Plan while the students living in campus houses or apartments are not required to do so but they may choose to get the Block Plan.</li><li>Students interested in shifting outside the residence halls can find <b>a variety of off-campus housing options in the USA</b> that too at affordable rates.</li></ul>

Financial Aid

You will find that the One Place Plaza complex in the New York city campus is the home of most of the classrooms, administrative offices and a community theatre which has the capacity to accommodate 750 people. You will also come across a residence hall (Maria’s Tower) with many stories. 41 Park Row houses not only the campus’s press paper, it also gives shelter to other classrooms, bookstore and faculty offices. Besides these you will discover the Haskin Laboratories inside this building. This laboratory is known for conducting various kinds of medical experiments. The New York campus also has the William Street buildings which provide accommodation to classrooms, a conference centre, and offices of the School of Computer Science and Information Systems among others.The Westchester campus has an Environmental Centre which is committed to the growth and development of the environmental studies program. It is also the house of certain classrooms and offices. One interesting thing about this building is that it provides shelter to animals like chicken, goat, reptiles, etc. You will also find a museum on this campus – it is called the Marty McGuire Museum and is known for exhibiting wildlife.

The location of the university campus, Manhattan is the most densely populated of New York City’s 5 boroughs. It's mostly made up of Manhattan Island, bounded by the Hudson, East and Harlem rivers. Among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers, it’s the heart of “the Big Apple.” Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building, neon-lit Times Square, World Trade Centre and the theaters of Broadway. Once you get out of the financial district, you will come across plenty of bars, nightclubs, shopping centres, parks, museums and whatnot.

<p>Alumni from the university take up jobs in a variety of positions such as creative designer, journalist, graphic designer, account manager, tax associate, admissions counsellor, associate engineer, clinical lab assistant, exercise specialist etc. According to statistics reported by the college</p><ul><li>92% of alumni were employed in a field related to their major.</li><li>85% of alumni were employed within the 6 months of graduating</li><li>75% of alumni sought guidance from university departments or related individuals for their jobs</li></ul>

Placements

In New York City, the summers are warm and humid, the winters are very cold and windy, and it is wet and partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 28°F to 85°F and is rarely below 14°F or above 92°F. If you are not accustomed to extreme winters, then you might need some time to adjust to the freezing winters out here. But, the summers will be far easier for you because they are as hot and humid as it is at home. Also, make sure that you have an umbrella with you whenever you are out because the rains in the city are unpredictable and it can pour anytime.
