<p>Shepherd University is a public-funded University located in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, USA. The university was established in the year 1871 as Shepherd College when the local residents decided to use the empty courthouses for educational purposes and to make children, as well as young adults, educated. In the beginning, the college&nbsp;decided to teach their students languages, arts, and science.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the year 1930, the institution became of 4-year college for the training of teachers as well as granting the bachelor of arts degree. The college was also authorized to offer Liberal Arts programs in 1943, and by the year 1950, it also got permission to offer the Bachelor of Science degree. In the year 2004, that time Governor Bob Wise passed a legislature converting Shepherd College into Shepherd University.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shepherd University offers on-campus accommodations at their 6 residential halls which are located on the main campus of the university. The first-year students at the university are required to live at any of the residential halls on campus. These residential halls house thousands of students and provide them with basic necessary facilities like a private washroom, private wardrobe, desk &amp; chair, laundry service, common student lounges, etc.</p>

<h3><strong>Off-campus facilities</strong></h3>

<p>If any student can&rsquo;t get the on-campus accommodation facility by the university by any chance, they can always opt for the off-campus accommodation which the university allows as well. Students can rent any flat or different types of apartments like private apartments, shared apartments, studio apartments, etc. depending on their budget and interest.
