Overview
Sonoma State University was founded in 1960, with its first batch starting in 1961. The first batch had an enrollment of 250 students, and the university was intended to be a part of the California State College System.
It offered its first four-year programme in 1962. The college moved to its permanent campus in 1966. It has an area of 215 acres (87 ha) where the first graduating class received their degrees.

General Information
Every year, the university gives out about 1.1 million in scholarships. Every year, about 2,000 students graduate.
CSU Future Scholars Scholarships
Students who are first generation and in need are eligible for the award. Applications are available in the late spring and early summer and are renewable for up to four years. The required paperwork and excellent academic records are a requirement for this award.
Departmental Scholarships
Additionally, students can apply for scholarships directly through the academic departments they are enrolled in. Since they authorise Departmental Scholarships, the faculty bears a significant portion of responsibility for this type of scholarship.
