The Talented Athlete Entry Scheme is designed to assist talented young sports performers in gaining access to a quality education at Ulster University whilst attaining success at the highest levels within their chosen sport.

The Scheme recognises the sacrifice in time, effort and crucially - in examination performance - which may result from taking part in sport at the highest level. Under the Talented Athlete Entry Scheme, Ulster University allows a reduction in the grades required for entry to undergraduate courses.

For the academic year 2023-24, successful applicants to the Talented Athlete Entry Scheme will be offered a two-grade reduction in entrance requirements or the equivalent in other accepted entrance qualifications.

Talented Athlete Entry Scheme

1) A two grade Reduction in course entry requirements (or grade range CCC; whichever is lower) or the equivalent in other accepted entrance qualifications. Please note that CCC is the lowest course offer that can be made through the Scheme.

2) A Talent Squad Sport Scholarship offering access to performance sport support services valued at over GBP500 including musculo-skeletal screening, physiotherapy, strength & conditioning programmes, testing & supervision, performance skills workshops, merchandise and free membership of one Ulster University Sports Union Club.

3) Mentor support.

4) The opportunity to apply to the Ulster University Approved Absence and Independent Study Programme.

With the generous support of Norbrook Laboratories Limited, the Barnett Pharmaceutical Biosciences Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to students undertaking an MSci in Pharmaceutical Biosciences at Ulster University.

The Scholarship has a value of GBP10,000 (GBP2,500 per annum) and will be available to all newly enrolled level 4 students.

Announcements regarding the scholarship for 2022-23 will be made to the relevant students at the start of the 2022-23 academic year.
