The University of Adelaide (informally Adelaide University) is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 1874, it is the third-oldest university in Australia. The univeruniversity&#39;scampus is located on North Terrace in the Adelaide city centre, adjacent to the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum and the State Library of South Australia.

The university has four campuses, three in South Australia: North Terrace campus in the city, Roseworthy campus at Roseworthy and Waite campus at Urrbrae, and one in Melbourne, Victoria. The university operates out of other areas such as Thebarton, the National Wine Centre in the Adelaide Park Lands, and Singapore through the Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre.

1. Peter Rathjen- He is an Australian scientist and medical researcher. He was the 22nd Vice-Chancellor of the University of Adelaide, from January 2018 through July 2020.

2. Professor Mike Brooks- He is the Interim Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide. He is a leading international researcher in computer vision and image analysis, and his work in intelligent video surveillance has seen wide commercial use in the security industries and has resulted in international awards.

3. Professor John Lynch- He is the Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He is a Visiting Professor of Epidemiology in the Bristol Medical School: Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol in the UK. He spent 20 years working in North America and before returning to Australia in 2009 he held professorial positions at the University of Michigan in the USA, and at McGill University in Canada.

4. Professor John Williams- He joined the Adelaide Law School in 1997 as a lecturer having completed his doctorate at the Law Program, Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. Prior to his appointment as Professor in Law in 2006 he was a Reader at the Australian National University (2004-2005) and a Senior Lecturer (1999-2003) and Lecturer (1997-1998) at the Adelaide Law School. 5. Professor Robert Adams- His degrees are MBBS, FRACP, FRCP(London) and MD. He is a specialist respiratory and general physician with extensive experience in public health, clinical epidemiology and health services research. He completed post-doctoral training at the Channing Laboratory, Harvard Medical School and is Adjunct Professor in the Discipline of Medicine at The University of Adelaide, Professor of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and Medical Director, Adelaide Institute of Sleep Health (AISH) at Flinders University.

The weather in Adelaide is not in extremes. The Mediterranean climate means that summers are hot and dry, while the winters are mildly cold and wet. On average, January is the hottest month while June is the wettest month of the year. During winter, due to the wind chill, the city is slightly colder than expected and hail is not too uncommon. While there are no major weather extremes, it might be wise to be prepared for the summer since it tends to get really hot.
