The University of Alberta, also known as U of A or UAlberta, is a public research university located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1908 by Alexander Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta, and Henry Marshall Tory, the university's first president. It was enabled through the Post-secondary Learning Act.
The university is considered a "comprehensive academic and research university" (CARU), which means that it offers a range of academic and professional programs that generally lead to undergraduate and graduate level credentials.

On-Campus Accommodation&nbsp;

Lister Accommodation, which comprises the &#39;Classic&#39; Lister towers, Kelsey Hall, and Henday Hall, is the on-campus hostel residence for first-year students.

<ul>
	<li>There are furnished dorm-style and unfurnished apartment-style apartments available, both of which provide basic amenities such as dining halls, libraries, laundry, and TV lounges.</li>
	<li>For eight months, on-campus living costs a student between 3,8400 and 9,555 CAD.</li>
	<li>They are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore candidates should apply for a home as soon as possible.</li>

Off-Campus Accommodation&nbsp;

The institute offers off-campus lodging to students who seek a private space close to school but not on campus. Suites, highrise or walk-up apartments, bachelor apartments, and shared accommodations are some of the options offered. Applicants are encouraged to visit a month before the start of the semester to familiarise themselves with the possibilities accessible to them.

There are about 150 structures on this site. Barton Myers designed it in 1969. All university campuses provide housing with all the essential amenities for students&#39; convenience.

Students love the university&#39;s verdant, immaculate campus, which is close to a variety of recreational locations. To increase their network size, students can choose from more than 450 clubs and organizations.

Sports and Athletics

	<li>The University&#39;s athletics department is overseen by the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, which also runs a number of intramural, sports club, and group exercise programmes.</li>

Application Scholarships -&nbsp;

Undergraduate overseas students are considered for these scholarships when they apply for admission. Because eligibility is determined on the students&#39; high school admission average at the time of admission offer, students with higher academics have a greater chance of obtaining these grants. There are several types of scholarships available, with award amounts ranging from CAD 5,000 to CAD 9,000.

Departmental Scholarships -

As the financing for graduate students is controlled by university departments, students who have already been admitted to programmes of study should contact their respective departments for assistantship positions. Applicants at the doctoral and master&#39;s levels can apply for a variety of recruiting scholarships, which are awarded to the best students based on departmental recommendations.

Around 38,000 students are housed in the university&#39;s 18 faculties, dispersed across five locations. 
The north campus of the University of Alberta is located in the centre of Edmonton, near a verdant river valley that spans over 50 city blocks and has over 150 buildings.

The University of Alberta&#39;s main campus is located in Edmonton, the provincial capital, on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Edmontonians are regarded for being the nicest. Calgary is the nearest major city to Edmonton.

The Rutherford House, William Hawrelak Park, Winspear Centre, Paleontology Museum, and many more tourist sites can be found in Edmonton.

Travel and Transportation

Around Edmonton, public transit offers excellent accessibility. Edmonton Transit provides comprehensive bus and light rail transit services. For students to get to school and travel around the city, the bus and LRT lines of the Edmonton Transit System are the most feasible.

The University of Alberta places a strong emphasis on preparing its students for profitable future job options. Students receive on-the-job training and career guidance to help them improve their skills and advance to the best businesses. The UAlberta Profession Centre is always willing to assist students and recent graduates in starting a career that will take them somewhere.
