​​The Sonny and Gita Mehta Scholarship for Writers will support a talented writer from the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East or North Africa to enable them to undertake study in our prestigious department of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at UEA.

Candidates who self-identify as Roma in the application form under ethnicity, will also be considered.

- GBP4,000 for every year of study excluding placement years, years in industry or years or semesters abroad or any other occasion where a student is not paying the full Overseas fee.

This will be deducted from tuition fees on an annual basis.

The total value of scholarship will NOT be deducted from one single year of study.

International UG Merit Scholarship

The Vice Chancellor's International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship is an application based award open to those who hold an offer of study at UEA. Our panel sits on a regular basis with submissions of a high quality being offered GBP7,000 as a tuition fee discount. Successful applicants will be informed shortly after each panel.

This scholarship is designed to reward international fee status applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can clearly and concisely explain how studying here at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study as well as the wider UEA community.

The Vice Chancellor's International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship (September Start)

To recognise the financial commitment of paying early we have awards available to international offer holders.

This award is for students who are joining UEA in January and February 2025 for an eligible full time taught masters programme.

Applicants paying the GBP4,000 deposit in full by 18 November 2024 will receive a GBP500 tuition fee reduction.

International Early Payment Awards (January and February Start) (Early Deposit Award Spring Semester 2025)

To recognise the financial commitment of paying early we have awards available to international offer holders.

This award is for students who are joining UEA in January and February 2025 for an eligible full time taught masters programme.

Applicants paying One Year's tuition fees in full (minus any other UEA scholarship) by 9 December 2024 will receive a GBP1,000 tuition fee reduction.

International Early Payment Awards (January and February Start) (Full Payment Award Spring Semester 2025)

The Lesley Williams Masters in Nursing Scholarship will support a talented student nurse entering their second year of UEA's prestigious Nursing Masters programme.

Applicants can be home or international students and must be in their first year of study during the time of application.

Applications will only be considered if their second year research proposal covers care of older people or mental health care. Applicants must demonstrate genuine financial need and a commitment to remaining within the nursing profession.

The Lesley Williams Masters in Nursing Scholarship

The Annabel Abbs Scholarship is available to an applicant who has applied for a place on the MA Creative Writing (Prose) or MA Creative Writing Non-Fiction in the School of Literature, Drama, and Creative Writing. A scholarship application is required. 

Preference will be given to applicants who are over 35 years old at point of application to the course.

The Annabel Abbs Scholarship

In memory of Professor Steve Davies, a scholarship equal to full Home/International fees for applicants applying to the MSc Economics.

Any applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Economics by 30 April 2025, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

Professor Stephen Davies Scholarship

The Simon Wharmby Scholarship is available to an applicant who has applied for a place on any MA course in the Environmental Science school.

Preference will be given to those students who show an interest in island conservation and extinction prevention.

​The UEA Booker Prize Foundation Scholarship is available to an applicant who has applied for a place on the MA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing who is resident in a commonwealth country (including the UK, Republic of Ireland and Zimbabwe). A scholarship application is required.

The UEA Booker Prize Foundation Scholarship

​Katie was an ENV undergraduate (on the Year Abroad in North America programme) from 2002-2006. She died in April 2006 while being treated for leukaemia and was subsequently awarded a posthumous First Class Honours Degree in Environmental Sciences. The Katie Wilkinson Research Scholarship has been established as a Registered Charity (No. 1117991) in memory of Katie.

Funds from the charity are available to support undergraduates in the School of Environmental Sciences at UEA towards their Year Abroad.

This scholarship is for current undergraduate students in Environmental Science only.

The Sonia Dimont Scholarship is available to an applicant who has applied for a place on any postgraduate taught course in the School of Politics, Philosophy and Area Studies or in the School of Media, Language and Communication studies.

A scholarship application is required.​

The Bryan Heiser Memorial Bursary is available to an applicant who has applied for a place on the MA Creative Writing (Poetry) in the School of Literature, Drama, and Creative Writing. A scholarship application is required. 

Preference will be given to applicants who are over 45 years old at point of application to the course.

Recent scholars have been successful in BUCS, Local, Regional and National competitions with many also attaining International success. This is achieved by ensuring each athlete can thrive in their own environment.

Our holistic and athlete-centred approach to developing performance has showcased success with many athletes competing at age-group and senior World and European Championships, and the BUCS programme rising nearly 20 places in just four years - with many teams dominating the local and regional landscape in their sport. We welcome applications from para-athletes and have a track record of supporting para-athletes on both our UEA Sport Scholarship and Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) programmes. Our current performance sports are basketball, football, netball, American football and rugby - but we also pride ourselves on accepting scholarship applications from a wide range of other sports. We want to help all athletes reach their potential whilst here with us so all applications are welcomed, with each case being reviewed against our sporting criteria (see below).

If you are an aspiring student athlete playing basketball, football, rugby or netball - either prospectively or currently studying at UEA - we want to support you in your journey to achieve your highest potential both academically and on the sporting field.

All students in the first team for basketball (men's and women's), football (men's and women's), rugby (men's and women's) and netball will receive a Developing Excellence level scholarship that provides a bespoke package of support tailored to each team's needs.
