The University of New Orleans was a branch of Louisiana State University and was originally named Louisiana State University in New Orleans or LSUNO.&nbsp;

LSUNO opened for classes in 1958, two years ahead of schedule. It was the first racially integrated public university in the South.

Most scholarships are awarded based on academic credentials and student accomplishments reviewed through the admission process. A separate scholarship application is not required, but ACT or SAT scores and an official, current high school transcript should be submitted as soon as possible.
