Overview
The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) came into existence as the Merchant Venturers' Navigation School in 1595. The school became the Merchant Venturers Technical College in 1894. It changed into Bristol Polytechnic in 1970 and was granted university status under the Further and Higher Education Act, 1992. General Information
Available scholarships and application procedure for Scholarships
There are several scholarships and bursaries available for international students based on their course and degree type. The Chevening scholarship is a good option to apply for externally. Some university offered scholarships are:
- British Council IELTS Scholarship is offered to eight students from India applying for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Chancellor’s Scholarship waives 50% of the tuition fees of the applicant chosen. The applicant would have to take up an internship within the International Office or other departments, and would be an ambassador for the university.
