<p>The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a public-funded, research-oriented university located in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States of America. The university was founded in the year 1885 as the Milwaukee Normal School for the development of the city as well as for&nbsp;better education in the city. The institution went through several modifications and changes over the years. In the year 1951, by the empowerment of the state legislature, the institution became the &quot;Wisconsin State College-Milwaukee&quot;.</p>

<p>In the beginning, the primary objective of the institution was to teaching, training, and development of quality teachers. With their efforts, the institution became one of the top teacher training colleges of the nation in the 1940s. Later in the year 1956, Wisconsin State College-Milwaukee got merged with the divided division(graduate branch) of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, to form the new University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.&nbsp;</p>
