History-

Western Michigan University was established on 27th May 1903. It is a public research university located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The university was first officially known as Western State Normal School. There are several times school was given different names.

In 1927 it was named Western State Teachers College and in 1941, it was named as Michigan College of Education. Finally, in the year 1957 it was renamed as Western Michigan University.
