GISMA Business School is a private higher-education institution founded in 1999 in Germany. It was founded as a joint initiative by the state of Lower Saxony with some private companies based in the state. In 2013, GISMA lost its sponsorship, grants and partnerships after a low student enrollment. Nearing bankruptcy, it was saved by Global University Systems, a for-profit company.
Currently, GISMA offers various undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the fields of business and management. All the degrees offered here are awarded by partner institutions and there are also part-time courses students can opt for. Facts: 1. GISMA has students from over 40 countries around the world. 2. All students are offered free beginner’s German language classes. 3. GISMA’s main campus is in Hannover but it also has campuses in Berlin, Hamburg and London. 4. Hannover has a vibrant nightlife with a variety of beer gardens, bars and clubs to choose from. 5. All degree programs use English as the language for teaching.

On-campus facilities: If you are looking for a dorm-room or hostel experience, you would have to adjust your expectations. GISMA offers assistance in securing accommodation but not on-campus. All students are offered accommodation options but there are not unlimited options as the student would only get two options to choose accommodation from. Off-campus facilities: All the accommodations offered by GISMA are off-campus. Most commonly, students opt for a flat or for sharing a house with fellow students. All students would get an email after their admission is confirmed. Students can either opt for the suggested place, details of which are given upfront so that you can book it online, or they can ask for another option which would be the final one. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): From Shalimar to Taj Mahal, Indian delicacies are not far to reach if you are in Hannover. A quick drive would take you closer to food like home. With both dine-in and takeaway options, you can reach an Indian restaurant and enjoy the Indian culinary experience alone or with friends.

Hannover lies on the confluence of river Leine and its tributary and it is the river Leine which can be found flowing close by the Hannover campus. Other major cities are reachable by high-speed trains within hours. Today, Hannover is a major economic centre and a popular tourist destination. Important landmarks/places nearby: Hannover is a beautiful place. You will get to know it as soon as you decide to discover the city on your own. Make sure you visit Nanas as it is a place where you can marvel at both the scenic beauty and the sculptures made by man. Leineschlossbrücke is another place you should go to, especially as it is just 6 minutes away. Other places worth visiting include the red deer enclosure, Stadtmauer and Genesis. Crime rate: The crime rate of Hannover is 47.03 which is moderate. Depending upon the level of criminal offense, the crime rate ranges from low to moderate. If we go by a cursory glance, Hannover is a relatively safe place to live or study in. If you want more information, we recommend you do some in-depth research. Nearby Airports: The campus is located just 25 minutes away from the Hannover international airport. Whether it is a domestic flight, your flight to explore the world or to return back home, you wouldn't have to travel for hours to reach the nearest airport. You will be acquainted with it as soon as you land in Germany. Nearby Subways and train stations: Quite a few subway stations are located in the vicinity of the campus and can aid you well in your daily commuting plans. Harenberger Straße and Wunstorfer Straße are some of the nearest subway stations. You can also opt for the bus. The Hannover Steintor station is the nearest bus stop.

Internships: Students are allowed to intern during their studies. There is no clear mention of the internship procedure but if you are interested in interning, you can contact student counselling with your request.
