Northumbria University was formed by combining the College of Art &amp; Industrial Design, Rutherford College of Technology, and the Municipal College of Commerce in 1969 and Northumbria wasn&#39;t even its name in its early days. It was called Newcastle Polytechnic and in 1992 it got the current Northumbria University name. Coming to 2000 the University was the largest one in North of East England.

Northumbria Law School is seeking to attract the highest calibre of students to its Bar Course programmes.  Our aim is to encourage access and enable capable and motivated students to enter the legal profession. In furtherance of this aim, Northumbria Law School is pleased to offer five Bar Course Scholarships.  The holders of a Bar Course Scholarship will enjoy a full waiver of the fees for the Bar Course (subject to the terms and conditions stated below).

The Bar Course Scholarships are awarded on merit alone and are assessed against clear criteria.  Scholarship applications require a written application form and those shortlisted will subsequently be invited to attend an interview with the scholarship panel.

Northumbria offers a generous 20% tuition fee discount to students who choose to continue their studies or return to Northumbria to gain a Masters or Postgraduate Research qualification.
