History -

Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, formerly known as Russian State Medical University or RSMU, was founded on 1906 and is located in Moscow, Russia. It is a medical education institute, whose first lecture was delivered on 26th September, 1906. We recommend Pirogov to all the medical aspirants as it is one of the largest medical universities in Russia and it is the first university in Russia to allow women to acquire degrees. This opened new prospects for attracting the women for completing their higher education at the time when the country needed medical professionals the most. The course at that time was known as The Higher Medical Course for Women (HMCW) and the first batch (known as &quot;medichki&quot;) graduated on the spring of 1912. At that time, the medical courses were for only women but later on in 1930, those courses were transformed into an independent 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute.

Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University is the oldest and well known medical education institute in the world that is fully accredited and recognized by Russia&rsquo;s Ministry of Education and Science and is currently under the authority of the Ministry of Health and Social Development. It has over 115 departments and 250 courses.

On-campus facilities -

Accommodation is available for students on-campus as the University has a high-rise dormitory for non-resident students. Hence, it would be best recommended that you choose to stay on-campus in your junior years as it would be comparatively safer and more convenient for you to adjust to the new lifestyle. The Students live in blocks of two rooms for 2-3 people with a shared bathroom along with sharing the basic furniture and kitchen facilities. The hostel premises are guarded and entry is allowed only after the students complete the Lease Agreement for the hostel.

Off-campus facilities -

If you are a person who prefers to stay independently and with all the freedom, then the various off-campus facilities might be useful to you. Off-campus facilities are best for students in their senior years when they have adjusted to the new cities&#39; lifestyle. Few of the common off-campus accomodation facilities are:

1. HOMESTAYS :- Homestays are a cultural exchange between a local individual or family, called a &ldquo;Homestay Host&rdquo;, and a visiting International Student who comes to live as a guest in their home while they are studying in there. The Host also provides the Student with all their basic needs, including their own room, food (if applicable) and space to study. In return, the Student pays a weekly fee.

2. HOSTELS :- Hostels provide a friendly, supervised and safe environment for students. Many hostels also provide meals.

3. SHARED ACCOMMODATIONS :- Shared Accommodation allows students to have more freedom. Students can share a room, house or apartment depending on their budget.

4. APARTMENTS OR HOUSES :- This is a good option for students who want to live a more independent and private life. Studio (one-bedroom) apartments are more popular amongst students who choose this option because they are less expensive to rent compared to the larger apartments or houses.

Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food) -

If you are an Indian searching for food options available, then you can rest assure because, the RNRMU offers all types of cuisines from all over including Indian delicacies.

Alumni

Student can apply for admission in Pirogov online directly to University or can apply through their authorized representative in their country.

1.) The Application Form has to be filled.

2.) Required documents must be submitted- A copy of International Passport or ID. (minimum valid for two years), copy of HigherSecondary School Certificate (with subject details)

3.) After reviewing the above written documents, the university shall notify the student about acceptance or rejection.

4.) If you are accepted, the University shall issue an Admission Confirmation Letter for you on one working day.
